Treat yourself to a ‘No Stress’ lunchtime with Lucyoga in the stunning Broderick Hall of the Leeds City Museum. Upbeat but gentle yoga to help you feel stretched and at ease with life’s challenges. This is fun, relaxing yoga that’s suitable for all body types and levels of experience, set to carefully crafted playlists. Expect a lovely spacious yoga class, that will help you get moving and relaxing whilst enjoying this incredible setting. Everyone is welcome to Lucy’s classes and she teaches a fully instructed class that doesn’t require any prior knowledge of yoga (so great for beginners), and if you need adaptions for fitness level, injury or health conditions, that’s fine too. For those with more yoga experience this is a chance to try a new style, one that focuses on your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. It draws on traditions of Tai Chi, Qi Gong and Pilates and challenges through slower, flowing movements that allow the mind to release the chatter and stress. Lucy’s style is called Dru Yoga and has been described thus: “Dru Yoga seems to be all about restoration and inclusiveness. Movements are slow, deliberate and therapeutic, and focus is very much on establishing a mind-body connection to enhance overall feelings of relaxation. You are encouraged to reach the stage you are able to, working with and accepting your abilities, rather than fighting your natural capabilities, trying to show off, and slipping a disc.” The yoga sessions will take place in the Broderick Hall – the centre piece of the City Museum. We will have private access to this space and can lay out our yoga mats on the map of Leeds, whilst looking up into the domed ceiling and soaking the grandeur in! Please bring a yoga mat and a bottle of water. If you can manage to bring a blanket as well that would be great. A few yoga mats and blankets will be available for you to borrow if you don’t have one, but please let me know if you need a mat/blanket in advance by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
