Leeds Welcome | Pulse

We’re excited to be supporting an exciting new festival that has been organised by the good people at Leeds International and Leeds Young Film Festival. Running from the 14th to the 16th July the INDIs will include specialist screenings of films industry sessions, panel discussions and other installations specially curated for an audience of 16-30 year olds but open to everyone. Olly is a gay, disabled teenager – in love with his straight best friend, Luke. When a new medical advancement allows full-body transplants, Olly must question who he is and risk sacrificing everything to catch Luke’s eye. With its understated sci-fi underpinnings, Pulse is a highly sexed-up modern parable on what it is to be young, with disability and queer on the verge of adulthood. DIRECTOR: Stevie Cruz-Martin DETAILS: Australia, 2017, 74mins, 15 tbc STARRING: Caroline Brazier, Daniel Monks, Scott Lee ASSOCIATION: The Leeds Young Film
