Join our Designers in Residence, Jamie Hudson and Orlando Lloyd, for an editorial induction of the Publishing Studio as part of the exhibition, The House That Heals The Soul. This induction will teach you how to use you the processes and tools that go in to making small-run and DIY publications. At the end of the session you will have self-published your own ‘zine. One copy will stay in the exhibition’s growing library and the rest will be for you to take or distribute. Inductions will run on all Mondays and some Saturdays during the show. Each induction will take two hours. You are encouraged to bring content for the publication with you. Please see the FAQs below for details. Each sheet of A4 paper used in the production of your zine will cost 2p. Payments are cash only. This small contribution helps to keep the studio running. Access to the equipment and our designers’ expertise are free. The House That Heals the Soul [https://thetetley.org/house-heals-soul/]is both an exhibition and a functioning publishing studio. Its presentation at The Tetley coincides with the International Contemporary Artists’ Book Fair. Content that you want to share with audiences in print. This could be a manuscript, a set of images or a collection of words and graphics you have already prepared. These can be printed on paper for scanning or in any of the following digital file types: JPG, TIFF, PDF, EPS, RTF, DOC, DOCX. Please bring any digital files on an unformatted or PC-formatted USB drive. If you don’t have anything to bring, the studio has a set of prompts and ideas that can get you started on-site.
